In November 2015, Wang and her friend went on a trip in search of a shipwreck. Unexpectedly, they encountered hundreds of gigantic, surreal-looking tree trunks scattered across a beach, but failed to document them photographically, for they thought those “were not going anywhere.” The next day when they returned, the beach was empty; the tree trunks had been buried by sand overnight. You Are Beautiful You Should Be Seen was created based on this experience.
